Shaping the Face

contouring = brightening highlights + darkening shadows
also known as emphasizing on certain features, and hiding the extras.
everyone has a different face shape, and would differ slightly. so this is just our version of a simple contouring-made-easy.
Need:
- contouring brush
- light colour powder (usually 2 shades brighter than your foundation)
- dark colour powder (usually 2 shades darker than your foundation. try VERY HARD to avoid shimmer. you re trying to direct light away, not attract more light. esp when taking photos with flash.)

(A) highlight
using your lighter colour, gently brush powder in a 'C' shape, from brow bone to upper cheek bone.
(B) shadow
using the darker colour, gently brush powder in a '3' shape, from the temple down along the bottom of cheek bone, then along the jawline halfway towards the chin.
blend powder along bottom of cheek bone and jawline upwards (refer to arrows in diagram)
(make sure to blend the sides into the hairline!)
do not apply too much, or it will look like patches of dirt :(
(C) blush
apply blush on apples of cheek and blend in direction as shown in diagram to form a tear shape.
the highlights would help brighten the eye area, enhancing your eye makeup, and create the illusion of higher cheekbones + the shadows on the side would slim down your face.
keep experimenting (or watch youtube vids.), and you ll find whats best for your face shape! T///
